Salum Stutzer is the Director of Facilities at Independence School District in Independence, MO.

Over the last 1/2 dozen years since he has been there, cleaning for health has been and continues to be the central goal of the custodial program. As such, their district was already up to speed when COVID hit.

Staffing is still the overriding issues and work-life balances. Salum says that districts now realize how important the role of custodial operations is and the sciences behind what they do.
