Koba Resources (ASX: KOB) managing director and chief executive officer Ben Vallerine joins Small Caps to discuss the company’s recent ASX listing and its plans for the funds raised through the IPO.

The US-focused cobalt explorer is the result of New World Resources (ASX: NWC) spinning out its cobalt-copper assets.

Koba raised $9 million through its oversubscribed IPO, which it plans to use on systematic exploration across its cobalt projects in Idaho, United States.

The company plans to allocate funds to evaluating future acquisition opportunities targeting minerals associated with electric vehicles and renewable energy infrastructure.

Koba’s Idaho projects include the highly prospective Blackpine, Colson, Panther and Elkhorn projects located along the Idaho cobalt belt and in proximity to the historic Blackbird cobalt-copper mine. It also holds the Goodsprings project in Nevada.

Koba is planning a project-wide induced polarisation (IP) survey at Blackpine and drilling program at Colson in the coming months.
