Internet in Iran could get disrupted for “security reasons,” Iran’s Minister of Communications, Issa Zarepour said according to semi-official ISNA. “For security purposes and discussions related to recent events, it is possible for occasional [internet] limitation to be decided and put in action by security forces,” Issa Zarepour claimed. Internet watchdog, NetBlocks said on Monday that “real-time network data show a near-total disruption to internet connectivity in Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan Province in west Iran”

Thousands across Iran protested Tuesday night against the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini who died after collapsing in police custody last week, according to social media videos and the United Nations Human Rights Office.
