Polar Bear Cub falls through Ice

The polar bear cub stays with the mother for 18 to 30 months. Some will ween off nursing after 18 months but still remain with their mother for a total of 2 to 3 years as they learn to hunt and do tricks to survive in the Arctic landscape. During their first few weeks, polar bear cubs nurse most of the time and stay close to their mother to keep warm. For the next three or four months, the cubs nurse as often as six times a day.
