Today we are out in the garden cleaning our beds and getting ready for the coming winter. We built these raised garden beds earlier this year and due to “life” (AKA time and money constraints) we only got dirt put in two of the eight new beds. This may have worked out for the best, however, because it allowed us to have a little success growing plants without being overwhelmed keeping up with a decent-sized homestead garden for the first time.

This winter we plan to fill the rest of the beds with dirt and compost to get ready for next spring. Going forward we hope to have fall crops, too – baby steps, right? Thanks for watching this video!
