A CHISHOLM man will face court after he performed a burnout directly in front of a marked police car in Gilmore last week (September 16).

At about 5.50pm on Friday, police were on patrol in Gilmore when a Toyota ute pulled in front of them and came to a stop.

The 31-year-old driver then proceeded to perform a burnout for 20 seconds, all of which was caught on camera by a police dash-cam.

Police performed a traffic stop a short time later, where the driver returned a positive roadside screen for alcohol.

He later returned a positive breath sample of 0.151 – more than three times the legal 0.05 limit.

The man’s drivers’ licence was immediately suspended, and his vehicle seized. He has also been charged with drink driving and improper use of a motor vehicle.
