O Bird of the Morning (Spiritual Poetry) – Saadi Shirazi

To truly embody divine love and attain spiritual growth, we can't just talk the talk. We also have to walk the walk.

And in this short, but deep poem, Saadi paints an interesting contrast between the morning bird and the moth—both personifying two distinct types of people: those who merely talk about connecting with God (e.g. the bird), and those that actually do (e.g. the moth). In essence, he's telling us to not blindly follow gurus that only talk about awakening, but haven't actually experienced it.
