• “They were watching” as Jesus entered the synagogue.
• A stone mason with a dried and shrunken hand in the crowd.
• The man was there by the plan of God to provide a lesson in healing and redemption.
• “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or do harm, to save a life or to kill”.
• Healing was immediate as Jesus told the man to stretch out his arm.
2. Centurion’s paralyzed servant. (Matt 8:5-13, Luke 7:1-10)
• The servant was brought to Capernaum by the centurion, the centurion had compassion and concern for the man.
• The centurion approached Jesus about healing, and immediately Jesus began towards his residence.
• The centurions’ friends met Jesus on the street asking Him not to come to the house, but rather “say the word” so that the man would be healed.
• Jesus marveled at the centurion’s faith. The servant was healed by Jesus’ silent will.
