This is a lesson that has helped thousands of believers understand Scripture better. Usually people assume that "salvation" only refers to "going to heaven." They find verses that seem to say that even after we have believed we're not saved yet. This confuses them. Maybe we aren't saved after all, or maybe we can lose our salvation?! This apparent conundrum is actually very easy to resolve if we understand the three tenses of salvation! In the context one can always identify which of the three tenses of salvation is in view.
