Faith of our Father
(Be Fathers of the Faith)
Text: Romans 4
Obj: that the brethren may know how important the Fathers in the Faith are
and emulate and appreciate them

Intro:
Previous Father’s day sermons (father of the fatherless, Outstanding father)

What Are Fathers of Faith Like:
1. They produce (as much children) – v. 1 (Gal 3:26-29) - in the flesh
a. Children predominantly are determined by their fathers
b. Not in the flesh only – implication of v.1
c. Many nations – v. 17
2. Glory of the Father – their children – v.2
a. Better glory Not by works – v.3 - faith
3. Impute Righteousness – vv. 6
a. Blessedness of a saved person – initiated by the Father
4. Mercy and Forgiveness can be expected - v. 7
a. Coupled with righteousness and being disciplinarian teacher
5. His Children are Blessed – vv. 7-9
a. Reckoned in advance
6. He Trusts in the Lord – v.19
a. Not weak (v.18) , staggered not (v.19)
b. Trusts in a powerful, able God – v. 21, and in the Lord Jesus – vv. 24, 25

Message/conclusion:

Let us know how important the Fathers in the Faith are and emulate and appreciate them
