Ukrainians got into a fight in a French town thinking for each other that they were Russian

Two women of Ukrainian origin filed a complaint with the police about the violence. Both women stated that they were convinced that the attacker was Russian and that he was violent towards them because they were listening to a song in the Ukrainian language, in which anti-Russian slogans were heard.

The suspect man is, in fact, a former Ukrainian soldier who explained to the police that he thought the two women were Russian.

The Ukrainian could receive a three-year prison sentence and a fine of 45,000 euros, the prosecutor said.
