Protesters calling for the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gathered in central Yerevan, Armenia, on Wednesday, September 14, following reports that Armenia had reached a ceasefire with Azerbaijan.

As many as 155 soldiers on both sides were reported dead following clashes at the border of the contested Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Pashinyan addressed protesters in a Facebook post, urging them not to be "manipulated.” Pashinyan said that no document had been signed.

Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, cited by some outlets as having announced the ceasefire, reaffirmed that his country had not signed any documents.

According to news reports, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Armenian minister of foreign affairs, met Toivo Klaar, the EU’s special representative for the crisis in South Caucasus and Georgia, on September 15 to discuss the situation at the border.
