Taxpayers Win! Joni Ernst Arranges Audit of the IRS

The auditors at the IRS will be audited themselves, thanks to U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), the Senate's biggest foe of government waste. At the senator's request, the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has agreed to review if the employees of the tax collecting agency have paid their own taxes. Previously, more than 1,200 IRS employees were found to be delinquent on their federal tax bills, with the agency doing little to discipline its tax evaders.
