Vladimir Putin in a 'very difficult situation' in Ukraine conflict

La Trobe University Russia Political Specialist Dr Robert Horvath says Russian President Vladimir Putin is “in a very difficult situation” as cities have been reclaimed by Ukrainian forces.
“He has suffered a series of defeats both in the political arena and now a very serious military one,” he said.
Dr Horvath said the way Mr Putin dealt with political opponent Alexei Navalny exposed him as an “incredibly corrupt kleptocratic ruler” which has been compounded by the recent military defeat.
