Regardless of where you want to go in the future. If your past-self could see into the future how you have progressed. You most likely would be proud of the improvements you have made from the lessons you have learned. If this is not the case and you are not proud of the changes you have made so far. It is NEVER too late to change that and use this experience to improve and kick yourself in the butt to make MAJOR CHANGES that will make you proud.
