Raw bones are great for cats but make sure you feed the right ones! Avoid these mistakes when feeding raw bones.

Wild cats chomp and chew through entire prey. They eat everything from head to toe.

But they typically eat small prey like mice and birds. These small prey have very soft and easily chewable bones.

So feeding your cat a huge turkey neck bone is a big don't!

Do not feed:
- Weight-bearing bones
- Cooked bones

Weight-bearing bones are too large and tough for cats.

Cooked bones (no matter the size) will become very hard and jagged. This can cause problems on the inside of your cat!

Always supervise feeding raw meaty bones. Just like toys, they can be choking hazards.

Raw meaty bones should be part of a balanced raw diet. Aim for 6-10% of the overall diet.

That means you do not feed raw meaty bones daily or every now and then.

Please balance and plan accordingly!

Too little bones can result in calcium deficiency and too much phosphorus in the diet. Too much bones can lead to constipation.

These imbalances can lead to other nutritional deficiencies/excess.
