THE TEENAGE DREAM - Luke McHugh [4K] (Summer Montage 2021)

Creating a film that was comprised of my entire summer had always been a dream of mine. I knew that it had to be great though. I had tried in the past and it never turned out how I had wanted it to be. I had always wanted the drone shots and the 4K video quality but never tried to seize the opportunity.
Considering this was my senior year, I figured this was my last chance to capture it all. I had a great engineering internship lined up for me but I knew I would regret it forever if I didn’t put every last bit into this film. I ended up passing up the job opportunity and pursuing what I thought was right. Throughout the entire summer, I brought my film equipment with me everywhere. I lugged around an extra backpack just so that I wouldn’t miss a potential clip. I ended up getting a total of 3 hours, 10 minutes and 10 seconds (569 files, 27 folders, or 136 GB) of video to choose from and put it all into a 3 and a half minute video.

I learned so much from editing this video but it took a lot of effort as well to figure out how a lot of it works. In the end, it was truly satisfactory to finally create a film that I think represents what summer is all about.
