Nehemiah was not a member of the establishment leadership. He was not a career politician. He was an outsider with no experience as a national leader, but he had a burden to "make Jerusalem great again" and to remove the reproach of his people among the nations. People who shared his burden rallied to his cause and began the great work. His enemies hated him and his supporters, they belittled and mocked their cause, and even accused them of fomenting insurrection. Sound familiar?
