Fracture (PS3) Gameplay

Fracture has some technical issues going for it, but I'm not sure if those issues occur in the Xbox 360 version of the game as well, or if it's a PS3 issue.

I remember playing this game off the demo I downloaded of the game, I remember thinking it wasn't too bad of a game, and it's not, but it definitely has some issues. Gameplay-wise, I would say it's worse than Dark Void, which I just uploaded a gameplay sample of, but not as bad as it reviewed either.

The cool gimmick in the game is the ability to deform the ground on demand, bringing it higher, or lower as needed. The idea was unique, and still is, but seeing this game at the time made me excited for what I thought the next generation of Red Faction would bring. Unfortunately, instead of bringing us a next generation geomod engine, Volition brought us Red Theft Auto. I was so dissapointed, because a game like Fracture got my hopes up for more games with deforming environments. Unfortunately, the seventh gen went from a gen where devs were initially willing to take risks, to a gen where development became so expensive, everything just became mainstream, copy, and paste formulized dribble.

Fracture isn't terrible, but it's not great. It has it's moments for sure, and is a good middling showing on the PS360.
