As Tessa West, a New York University social psychology professor and author of Jerks at Work: Toxic Coworkers and What to Do About Them says, “Jerk, I think, is really just a loose word to describe that you’re doing something to piss somebody off, and you might not even mean to be doing it. You might actually be hurting someone while helping another person.”
