Water Baptism Show Notes

Summary:
One of the greatest points of division in the Church has historically been water baptism. The issue need not divide us, as the proper Bible perspective places baptism in the proper perspective We search the Scriptures to find the real purpose and use for water baptism.

Notes:
Priests were washed: Jesus is the High Priest
Sacrifices were washed: Jesus is the Lamb of God
A sign: baptism manifested Jesus to Israel

Baptized into Christ is baptized into His death, burial, and resurrection.
        
What will water add to your completeness?

If circumcision is without hands, why is baptism (water) with hands?

If Israel’s circumcision is physical, why would their baptism not be physical?

Takeaway:
The One Baptism of Ephesians 4 is by one Spirit into one body. You were baptized into Christ the moment you believed. Water adds nothing to your salvation and can only truly be applied to the priesthood of Israel until Christ returns!
