Hayden Shapes Hypto Krypto Surfboard Review - an Oldie but Goodie

I had an opportunity to review a Hayden Shapes Hypto Krypto in a 5'6" which is 28.62L. I would normally go smaller on a board like but since my home break is Bolsa Chica, it made sense to go a tad bigger and I'm really glad I did. The board is stated to be for all surfers of all skills in 1 to 8ft surf. I would mostly agree with this but in the 1 to 2 ft range, the wave does need a bit of power. This board struggles in 1 to 2 soft conditions.

Ideally, this is a great step up groveler for something like the Mashup or Seaside. I would also say that it has the makings of a one board quiver. It does cover you very well in a large range of condition. Again, barring the soft small stuff. The tails is very narrow so unless you are advanced and can push your board and fins around really well, it will struggle when there is no push.

All in all, I highly recommend this board.
