Return to Castle Wolfenstein and DHG (Commentary)- PCSX2- Crypt

Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001,2003) was developed by Gray Matter (Primarily) and published by Activision, before they sold their souls for profit.

Once upon a time, gamers seeking First Person Shooters would turn to Doom, Quake, Hexen, Duke Nukem, and Wolfenstein for gameplay. Then, in 2001, Return to Castle Wolfenstein was dropped on our FPS starved souls, and we offered dead, digital Nazi soldiers and undead mutants as sacrifices to the FPS Gods. Outside of RtCW and Doom 2016, it's hard to point out better reboots and sequels than these, and of the two, RtCW is my favorite!

This game was fun back in 2001 when it launched on PC, and eventually to consoles (Xbox and PS2) in 2003, and it's still fun today! In terms of a run and gun shooter that perfects the basics, few games do it better than this.

I played the PS2 version via the PS2 emulator PCXS2, which I highly recommend if you desire to use gamepad. It looks fantastic and plays well, but the PS2 version also has an item shop between levels!

The PC still has an active multiplayer community that recently got dedicated servers back, for a game that launched 21 years ago, due to it's popularity! That is insane! The PC Multiplayer is also free on Steam, just search for Enemy Territory.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is available on PC, Xbox, and PS2.

I will give my rating for the game once it is completed based off of my new and simple rating system. The game will get one of five ratings based solely on my experience while playing through it: Horrible (rare rating), Bad, Average, Good, and Great (rare rating).
