7/29/2022 How to make and use worm tea in the garden

I started with rain water, added unsulfured molasses. Then added about 2 cups of worm castings into a large tea bag and zip tied it to the handle of the 5 gallon bucket. I allowed the bubbler and air pump to run for 24 hours. At which time I diluted the worm casting tea with more rain water. My drinking water is chlorinated and would kill the bacteria that was just multiplied because of the water, air and sugar. This is why I used rain water for this application. I used approximately a 3:1 ratio 3 parts water to 1 part worm casting tea. You need to know how much space you have to figure out the best ratio for you. With worm compost tea it can be used as a foliar application or a root drench. I did both pouring over top and then down at the bottom of the plants. Bonus at the end I showed what I did with the castings and the last little bit of the worm compost tea.
