Police in Texas say a 17-year-old shot and killed two males who broke into his house on Friday night.

Approximately 10:40 p.m., a complaint of a house invasion was made to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. According to a news statement from the office, an investigation revealed that three masked males with weapons tried to break into a residence in the Houston suburb of Channelview.

At the time of the attempted break-in, there was a mother, a 12-year-old son, and two 17-year-old lads inside the house. One of the teens, aged 17, saw that the men were trying to break in and promptly retrieved a shotgun. According to the press statement, he shot it multiple times at the suspected burglars, hitting two of them.

According to the news release, the third perpetrator drove off in a dark four-door vehicle without being hurt.

In Sacramento, California on February 28th, police tape is visible above. A 17-year-old Texas kid shot and killed two guys who police say were trying to get into his house on Friday.

Both guys had been shot, and when police came, they were unconscious. According to the sheriff's office, emergency responders pronounced both victims deceased at the site.

The Harris County district attorney's office has been briefed on the case, and they have suggested that it be brought to a Harris County Grand Jury, the sheriff's office said.
