Selecting Body Armor - Second Line Part 1

The first step in putting together your second line gear is deciding if you want body armor, and if so, choosing your armor.
We'll break down types, sizes, weight and some details you might want to know.
If you really don't care and you just want to fast forward to the buying, go to this link https://www.hesco.com/media/3065/threat-matrix_210420.pdf
Pick the plates that suit you, search for the best price and order them. Make sure you comply with any state laws you may have that infringe on your human rights. The idea that several states make it difficult or impossible for their residents to purchase life saving equipment really bugs me.

If you're on a budget, check out https://www.botach.com They often have decently light weight plates in the $130 to $200 range, including LVL 3+ multicurve for $140 (out of stock when I posted this, but they will be back)
