Jack expressed unease about the use of nuclear weapons, but Valerie assured him, "This tactical nuke is just enough to destroy the plant and the base. Before entering the plant, Doyle warned that the substance that induced mutations in the organism during the explosion could contaminate them and advised them to use an antidote before setting up the nuke, and at the plant he instructed them to remove the immune serum from a red box with biohazard markings and inject it. They did so. After setting the nuke Valerie and Jack left the factory, the nuke exploded and they lost consciousness.
