This evening, CHP H-30 responded with Southern Marin Fire District firefighters and the National Parks Service to a report of a hiker who was stranded off trail in the Marin Headlands.

H-30 arrived overhead as firefighters were searching the trails for the hiker. With information provided by Southern Marin Fire Dispatchers, H-30 located the patient several hundred feet off trail.

H-30 hoisted a crew member to the hiker and placed him into a rescue harness. The hiker was hoisted from his location off trail and flown to waiting firefighter and Parks Police.

This is the second hoist rescue our crew has performed today, the fifth since Sunday.
