Saudi Arabia has just lowered the price of its premier crude for buyers in Asia and Europe, but simultaneously hiked prices for oil barrels which will be sent to the United States beginning next month. For the United States of America, a lot seems to be going wrong. President Joe Biden executed what can be said to be a magnificent u-turn in his policy towards Saudi Arabia. Washington practically went from referring to Saudi Arabia as a “pariah state” to pleading with it to increase oil output via the strong cartel-like organisation called OPEC+.
