A Water Vole Plays Hide & Seek!
This water vole swam up river and underneath a bridge. I waited for this small mammal to appear the other side of the bridge for some minutes. But, as there was no sign, I tiptoed back to the other side of the bridge and noticed nettles being tugged downwards on the bank. A sure sign of a water vole! The water vole remained motionless for a moment and then carried on feeding. This time on cleavers! Water voles certainly keep you guessing and on your toes!
