Chongqing’s $3.5BN Mega Airport Expansion Update

As a significant traffic infrastructure construction project of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Terminal T3B and the fourth runway of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport started construction in November 2020, with a total project budget of 3.5 billion dollars. It is a very important project for Chongqing Jiangbei Airport to accelerate the construction plan of building an international aviation hub that is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
The project will complete the airport with four runways and four terminals to meet the needs of 80 million passengers, 580,000 aircraft take-offs and landings, 1.2 million tons cargo and mail throughput every year.
