With the economic war between the West and Russia intensifying European energy prices not only have spiked dramatically in the last 3 years but have recently experienced massive volatility.

Energy suppliers throughout Europe have been caught in the middle of this volatile environment and financial institutions have lost confidence in funding them.

Governments in Europe like Austria and Germany have recently bailed out big energy suppliers and over this weekend the Swedish government stepped in after the announcement late on Friday by Russia that it is shutting the supply of gas coming through Nordstream1.
