It is a small bird of the finch family. This bird is found in the mountains from southeastern Europe to the Alps in Spain. It is 12 cm long and grayish in color with black stripes on it. Black lines continue in the back. The underparts and canal stripes are yellow. The bright yellow head of this species is a striking feature.
