In this episode, we are on the hunt on Black Friday 2021 to expand our library of PlayStation 5 & Switch Games, & we add a member to the family with our amazing Black Friday Pickups, including, Star Wars, Games, & Collectables!!.

What I was looking for:
NASCAR Ignition 21 (PS4)
Sonic Colors with bonus keychain (Switch)
Resident Evil Village (PS 5)
Madden 22 (PS 5)
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl (Switch)
Discounted Gamepass & PlayStation Now

Up first was GameStop, as they had a ton of great deals. I was actually shocked to see that they only had one person ringing customers out, & five others walking the Floor. This seemed highly inefficient to me, but who am I to judge? Looking for a copy of Sonic Colors, they didn't have one on the shelf, but they did have them in the back I had them grab that for me. They had a buy 2 used, get 1 free promo going, & while they had brand new copies of NASCAR Ignition, F1 2021, Madden, & RE: The Village, they did not have any used copies.

I was floored how absolutely obliterated Target's gaming section was. Traditionally, they open up the security shelves & just let people take from the section on Black Friday, & this was no different. I saw great prices in store, however, they were already sold out of the items that I was interested in. The best I managed to do was pick up 3 three-month subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass, normally, $44.99 for $25.

Walmart was the next on my list, as they had the cheapest price for Madden 22 that I had seen anywhere at $26. I had looked through their discount pricing section & I didn't see it there. Then I walked over to the glass showcase, & there it was. Or should I say it there they were, as they had multiple copies. I grabbed an associate & had them open up the case. There are a few other items I needed to grab, but I was happy that I was able to pick up Madden 22.

From here I went to Live Action Games just to see if there's anything interesting there. There was, & it was something that I looked at many times, Adrian & I had haggled over the pricing, & finally, he came down to a price I was happy with paying. What am I talking about? Sphero, the maker of the app-enabled BB-8, R2-D2, & other droids, well, they at one point had an R2D2 display stand for Best Buy, I believe. Adrian has had one sitting in the store for over a year now, & I have tried to talk him down on price. Well, cash is king, he wanted floor space, so I now have an R2-D2 storage unit in the game room.

One game I have been on the lookout for years for the Super Famicom has been Super Back to the Future 2. Unlike the games we got here in the US, the Super Famicom version is beautiful, it sounds great, & it's just a ton of fun. Unfortunately, the game loose tends to go for over $100, in the box tends to go for over $150, & complete in box well over $200. One night, I was surfing around eBay, & there it was. The Game & the box, No manual, with a Buy It Now Price of $100 & $20 shipping, but the seller was also accepting OFFERS. I threw out an offer of $80, & the seller asked if I would come up to $90. It appeared that there was some damage to the box, the seller even indicated so in his listing, & I told him I was really only comfortable buying at $80. Thankfully, he accepted my offer & it got here lightning-quick.

I am in a Facebook chat group with a number of other creators, including Jay from Square Pegs (https://www.youtube.com/c/SquarePegs), John Riggs, & Kris Carlson from Game Dad (https://www.youtube.com/c/GameDadShow). Whenever we find cool stuff we make sure to share it with everybody, & I found a website with some really cool video game shirts. Well, I had shared it with Kris & he ordered a sweatshirt for himself. Little did I know, he also ordered one for me.

Thanks, Kris.

The last pickup is something I had no intentions of ever getting again. I've had several, some were good, some were very disappointing. My wife's friend had a cat that she was taking care of that was actually pregnant. Ginger sent me a picture of it & asked if she & Ellie Jo can have her. They've both wanted a kitten for a long time, as has my oldest daughter Cassie. With our loss of Pinetop earlier this year, I have to admit that our pack did not feel quite whole, So we added her to our pack. We were trying to figure out a name, & we wound up on Brulee, short for creme brulee.

Well, we did not get an immense quantity of pickups for Black Friday this year, I think what we got really hit the quality mark, at least for what I was looking for. I'm really bummed out I could not get a $20 copy of Nickelodeon All-Star brawl,. I want it just for Ren & Stimpy. I've already played one game of Madden NFL 22, it's decent. I'm impressed with how quickly the shipping notice came out from GameStop on the three games I ordered from them. They should be here any day now, & I'm excited to get some more game time going.
