ANTIQUE APPRAISALS | FIND VALUE IN FREE & CHEAP VINTAGE FINDS

Small town appraisal fairs are so much fun! A random train of family heirlooms, thrift store finds and found objects greets us at a small Florida town, whose enthusiastic owners are hopeful that their discoveries will have value to match the interesting stories of how they got their items.

Fortunately, we do not disappoint with our evaluations! Two items found at Goodwills for $3/each prove to be worth 40-50 times their purchase price. One woman's diligence in seeking secret drawers in old furniture pays off when the two Edwardian sterling pieces she found for free prove to be of good value. A few resellers go home excited at their finds!

Even better are the stories behind the items. A treasured family doll is older and more valuable than first imagined. An item picked up at a thrift store in 1965 (when it was not old) is now a collectible people seek. A box owned by a Knight of the Old Bath Order, an unusual Persian panel and overlooked china and glassware turn from forgotten dust collectors to treasured family keepsakes after our evaluations!

Enjoy this parade of vintage and antique wares from my "appraiser's eye" perspective, as we share knowledge that helps grow the joy and delight of collecting.

Here's the good stuff we evaluate in this appraisal fair:

Fire-King three-piece pie plate casserole, Indian tortoise shell box, Victorian drafting tool box, 1890s English transferware, Indiana Harvest carnival pitcher, Duncan Amberette, Tiara Sandwich decanter set, sterling food pusher and olive spoon, Persian tin on copper scenic panel, Chinese chicken toy, Satsuma mini vase, Weller Cameo box planter, Viking cocktail or coffee server, Jere style storefront wall art, 1850s coverlet, etc.
