Today I edit a video with Kdenlive, create a thumbnail with GIMP, and use OBS to capture all free and open source software running on the Arch Linux operating system.

I made a video using free software (Kdenlive, OBS, FFMPEG) and edited a thumbnail using Gimp, should I check out Krita, another free & open source program for image editing. Currently I'm using Kdenlive a free linux video editing software, and I'm going to check out some other software in more videos.

For my desktop environment I'm using the dynamic window manager (DWM) from https://suckless.org/ with st (suckless terminal), and dmenu which is often used with various tiling window managers. I'm using the Arch Linux distro and will also install Gentoo out of interest at some point.

Arch Linux is an extremely customization lightweight Linux distribution which follows a KISS (keep it simple stupid) philosophy. Combined with a tiling window manager, it makes an excellent enthusiast linux setup. I personally like the pragmatic ideology of Arch where they allow proprietary software in the repos if it is likely to be useful.

Personally I've tried several arch linux desktop environments and couldn't decide on a best one (they were all quite mediocre) so this time I'm using a customized window manager. I've used BSPWM before, but have overall found the experience with DWM more satisfying.

The next video will be testing linux gaming.
