In Eric’s final interview, he was asked what was his greatest concern; he brought up man’s tendency towards dominance & self-righteousness is not limited to theocratic hegemony but in fact heartless delirious power seekers can as they often do, subvert populations to do their bidding, you’ll know these vanguard types for their access (hyperbole etc), they must be constrained before a mass effect occurs. Quoting from 1984, from an upper party member’s description of the future, he emphasised that this is the worse outcome.
