In this episode, we share some amazing pickups from the month of August 2022, dare I say our best video game pickup month ever, where we added rare consoles, awesome handhelds, and amazing games to our collection.

I don't normally do a whole lot of pickup videos here on the channel, normally my pickups are pretty vanilla, and quite honestly I don't know the people would want to see them. For the month of August 2022, oh my goodness we have some amazing items that we picked up that I could not wait to share with all of you. A few of these we've shared already in the form of YouTube Shorts, but others you are seeing for the first time.

Consoles:
For the last few weeks, I have talked about how I was able to get a great deal on a boxed Panasonic Q, with the OEM controller. I'm currently in the process of replacing the disk drive rails and disk drive tray, make sure you stay tuned for that video.

I also had a chance to pick up an 8GB White Wii U off of our local Facebook Marketplace. For $15 it was worth checking to see if I could complete it at a reasonable price to install the Homebrew Channel on it while not effecting my 32GB system. As a bonus, when I hit the eject button it also had a copy of Zelda Skyward Sword in the disc drive, a win-win.

The final console I picked up this month was a Wii Mini. This was something that, in the end, didn't cost me anything as I traded a bunch of duplicates and other games into our local Disc Replay Store. It's complete, including the red Wiimote and Wii Nunchuck, and we will be modding the system in the future adding Wi-Fi and an SD card slot.

Handhelds:
I don't generally pick up handhelds, my hands just tend to hurt after playing them for too long. It sucks getting old. But I had an opportunity to add an NES Game Boy Advance SP back into my collection. It needs a new battery and possibly a fuse replacement, both of which I will be doing in an upcoming video.

Games:
We added a ton of games to our library this month, perhaps my favorite being the Sega Master System version of Sonic the Hedgehog. I actually ordered this off of eBay from the UK, and it took almost the entire month of August to get here. Thanks, customs. While this is the PAL version, it does play on an NTSC Master System without issue.

Perhaps the most unique game we added this month was a game for the Sega Pico. For 10 bucks I was able to pick up a copy of Mickey's Blast Into the Past for Ellie, doubling the size of our Sega Pico library.

I love my Japanese imports, and even before I got my hands on the Panasonic Q I had picked up two new import GameCube games. The first was the GameCube Puzzle Collection which features Panel de Pon, Yoshi no cookie, and Dr Mario. It includes both GameCube and Game Boy versions of these games which is awesome. We also picked up another Mickey Mouse game, Disney's Magical Park, and this thing looks awesome.

VGNYsoft sent us 4 games this month to check out, three for the Dreamcast and one for the Nintendo switch. For the Dreamcast, they sent us Hermes, Postal, and Shadow Gangs. I really need to finish my HDMI mod on my Dreamcast as I am itching to play these titles! On the Switch, they sent us an amazing shmup that I cannot get enough of already. Andro Donos 2 looks and plays and sounds so great, if you are a fan of the genre this is a must-own.

Looking forward to a future pair of mod videos, I did pick up some IPS mods and cases for the Game Boy Advance SP, some from Handheld Legends and some sent to us from eXtremerate. The two donor systems I have are in the need of a little bit of TLC, both also have blown fuses, both need batteries, and the IPS mods are going to look amazing.

Make sure that you are subscribed to the channel to stay up to date with upcoming videos we have planned on some of these items. This was an amazing month for us, I never thought I would own a Panasonic q but here it is. What was your favorite pickup this month? And what pickups did you get? Let me know down in the comments section.
