8. F1 tire life

A set of F1 tyres, on the other hand, will last no more than a kilometre at most, as teams will replace them before their performance deteriorates.
Racing tires are usually designed with a soft rubber compound to ensure maximum grip, but using a softer compound can also wear out the tires quickly.
