Lee Coffman, a 59 year old resident of Birch River, West Virginia was indicted by a federal grand jury in Columbus, Ohio, on charges of receipt, acquisition or purchase of illegally transported protected plants and falsification of records

The six-count indictment is about the American ginseng roots that sell for between 300-500 dollars per pound of dry root powder and 160 dollars for "green", about 1/3 of a pound, it takes about 300 roots to make a pound
