Morocco face a stiff test against Uganda The hosts of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations play Uganda on Tuesday at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat in their second Group A match after thrilling the home crowd with victory on the opening day.

In the opening match of the tournament, Morocco defeated Burkina Faso by a goal, while Uganda, making their 20-year comeback to the Wafcon, lost to Senegal 2-0. But they were guilty of missing several key chances and should have got more out of their game.

Morocco’s captain Ghizlane Chebbak promised that as the tournament progresses “the performance of the Lionesses will be better and that the whole squad intends to make the Moroccan people happy”. But Uganda is really good at bringing things back to reality.

Tuesday's doubleheader will begin with Burkina Faso playing Senegal and end with Morocco playing Uganda. After their two-goal victory, Senegal is in first place in the standings and is likely to ensure that they advance to the next round of the competition at the expense of Burkina Faso, who are competing for the first time and appeared intimidated on Saturday.

Senegal recorded their first ever win at the finals, having lost all three matches on their only previous appearance 10 years ago. For Burkina Faso it is a chance to bounce back now that the nerves are out of the way. "We will forget the defeat and we will play the next match in a good mood.
There are three points that we have to get,", said captain Charlotte Millogo. Tuesday's competition comes after the heavyweight match on Monday, in which South Africa defeated Nigeria 2-0 in Rabat to open Group C.

In each of the three groups, the top two finishers and the two best third-place finishers progress to the quarterfinals. In actuality, only four of the 12 competing teams withdraw after the first round, meaning that eight of them advance. The four African nations who will compete in the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year will be chosen at the Wafcon.
