Ezekiel 1 - Morning, Sept 1, 2022

Wow! What a challenge this was. Discovering the intense, strange imagery as I read made it difficult to communicate exactly what was being expressed -- that's obviously on top of the built-in challenge Ezekiel, like anyone who's had a vision of God, has of putting what he experienced into words. I can't say I have an image of what the four-winged, four-faced beings look like, or what their relationship to the wheels is. All I know is they move together.

What I love is the idea of a man living in bondage seeing God, and then becoming a prophet. I think we tend to think of prophet as sort of an old-timey job description, not an adventure that one is called to without the option of refusal. Can't wait to see what happens next!
