MakeLinuxWork - Episode 1 - ''Exile''

So I actually didn't setout to make this video. I had received a dedicated NVMe drive as a Birthday present from a family member, which I had intended to dedicate exclusively to experimentation with Linux. I had already installed Manjaro on it with the help of a friend (though we both became stumped at the instructions for EFI MiB partition size, which seemed to contradict what the system actually expected, and which I will attempt to explore or re-enact at a later point if I get the chance), so I was ready to start mucking about and decided I would start with Kubuntu - (I wanted to have the option for a KDE experience).

It wasn't until I got partway through the Kubuntu installation process that I got frustrated enough to pull out my phone and start recording - especially after it required me to disconnect my C-drive in order to move past the "software updates" section. I had originally only intended to show it to this friend so he could share in my struggle, but as the video went on, I realized "I might just have something here." Perhaps there was a chance that documenting my experience with using, installing and 'de-bugging' various Linux facilities might actually have the opportunity to help somebody else? I didn't know - but that's part of what we are here to find out.

I am a Right-Wing Linux user who supports FOSS - that's the angle of this channel. Ironically, though FOSS (Free and Open-Source Software) has been largely the domain of leftists and progressive types, it's actually the Right which needs its privacy and security offerings more than anybody else today - not to mention, the censorship avoidance that comes as part of the nature of being "Free and Open-Source." So that's what we're going for! I hope you like it, and I hope you have fun along with me. Assets which are included in the video (such as the flag, the Penguin holding the flag, and some others) will be made available as soon as I get around to finding some space for it in the cloud somewhere - though I think Odysee allows you to upload images only, which is really cool. So I hope to see you guys out there on the battlefield.

Won't you join me for a Right-Wing Linux Revolution?
