Plants vs Zombies 2 - Epic Quest - Seedium Plant Showcase - Hocus Crocus - September 2022

This Penny's quest focuses on the Seedium plant Hocus Crocus and was offered between August 31, 2022 and September 6, 2022.

Hocus Crocus is a member of the Enchant-Mint family.
Hocus Crocus costs 200 Sun. (175 at level 2, 150 at level 4 and 125 at level 7.)
Every 15 seconds (-1 second per level) Hocus Crocus will teleport the leftmost zombie to the right of the lawn.
This teleportation will do 100 (+25 per level) damage to the zombie.
When given plant food, Hocus Crocus will teleport the two (2) plus (+) its level (1 or more) leftmost zombies to the right of the lawn.

Commentary:
Seeing this plant reminds me of the children's game “Red Light Green Light” where being caught means you have to start over from the beginning. Hocus Crocus does that - which makes this plant good at stalling zombies.

Bottom Line:
This is definitely a cool plant. But cool plants do not necessarily make an effective plant. This plant only affects a singular zombie. So imagine one (1) Hocus Crocus vs one (1) Gargantuar. Gargantuars are slow and Hocus Crocus does damage the big guy so eventually, Hocus Crocus will win, right?

Wrong. When the Gargantuar tosses his imp companion, there is a realistic chance that Hocus Crocus will be eaten before being sent back to the start. In addition, there are now (2) zombies for Hocus Crocus to contend with and she may not be able to handle both. Hence, a fatal flaw.

While teleporting is a good idea, this is just an enhanced stall plant. If you need stalling plants, there is a whole variety to choose from. Sap-fling slows all zombies which step in the goo. Kernel-pult and Buttercup stop a zombie in its tracks. Hurrikale will push all zombies in a lane back to the start. Primal Peashooter does knock back as well as Spring Bean.
