In this episode, we give you an Extended Cut look at the recent Gift From YouTube, showing that Shorties Cereal is Real!

It's not every day that you get a package in the mail from @YouTube, but this is super fun & I couldn't wait to share it. I try to post #AShortaDay between regular uploads as a #ShortsCreator, thanks to Sonali the entire team for the support & community.

In 2021, YouTube had invited me to become a member of their YouTube Shorts Creator's Community. With this, there are monthly calls to help answer questions, provide feedback, and one-on-one support as needed. I recently received an email from my community manager which read as follows:

You will be receiving your Shorts Community gift this week, so please look out for it! Thank you for being such an amazing part of our Shorts Community, we are so excited for our continued work together in 2022 and beyond. You’ll want to open it up ASAP as some items in it are perishable and we want to make sure you get the full experience of the unboxing!

Upon opening the box, I was greeted with a box within the box. Labeled "Shorties" in it, I was definitely curious. Inside the box was a very sweet, and creative, treat. First of all, was a YouTube twisted straw. It was funny because Ellie Jo wanted to drink out of it, and there was zero chance she'd be able to do drink from it, but she wouldn't be able to do it. There was also a glass cereal bowl with the #YouTube #Shorts logo on the side, which was really neat. A wooden mallet with the same logo was also included, which left me puzzled. Finally, there was what looked like a box of cereal. But it wasn't exactly a box of cereal...

The cereal "Box" was actually semi-sweet chocolate with a beautifully airbrushed box front. At first glance I thought this was an actual box, it wasn't until I got it closer to my nose to smell what it was. Too cool! And the front of it was really beautiful like I said, but this was an actual "box", insomuch as it actually had something inside. What might you ask? Well, there was a letter inside with instructions of what the mallet had to do with the rest of the package.

I followed the instructions provided and used the mallet to crack open the box, and that's when the treats really got interesting. Inside the box was what appeared to be Cookie Crisp, so now the "perishable" note made even more sense to me. I love Cookie Crisp, a fat guy who loves cookies, who knew, right? Well I snacked on some of the cereal between cuts here on the video, and it was a fun treat. While I am a bigger fan of Milk Chocolate over Dark or Semi-Sweet Chocolate, this was still a tasty and fun treat.

There are times when I get down and frustrated with life in general and my channel specifically. Stuff like this, while I have complained about YouTube being a bit tone-deaf when it comes to smaller creators, but the Shorts Community has really helped provide me with some support and encouragement that was well needed and appreciated. I want to thank all of you for the support of the channel, for watching, sharing, and subscribing to the channel. It really does mean the world to me.
