In this world there are people who inspire us with their tenacity and their courage to stand up for what is right and also for their grit to stand against adversity!
Dr. Eric Saunders, an optomologist from New Jersey is one of those people. Not only did he stand for what is right but he set a standard of love while he did so.

Watch this inspiring conversation with Dr. Saunders and
Host Sumayyah Simone about how to respond to tough situations. Saunders was fired from his job at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey as an ophthalmologist. Saunders was born with no legs as a result of his mother taking Bendectin for morning sickness.

During his childhood, he spent a lot of time in doctors’ offices and realized that there were children who were worse off than he was and decided he wanted to help by becoming a doctor. Thus, Saunders met the grueling challenge of medical school and became an ophthalmologist.

My Black Health was conceived by Dr. Sheila Lewis Ealey and Sumayyah Simone to address the health disparities in the black community at their core. We, the people are that core. With ‘What’s Your View?’ Our goal is to bring healing methods that are doable each week to anyone willing to invest an hour to listen! Our bodies are “fearfully and wonderfully made” with the capacity to overcome illnesses if given the right types of natural substances!
