The AHEPA Family District 1 Convention was held in Atlanta Georgia on June 24-26, 2022. This included a dedication ceremony of the newly constructed Order of AHEPA Founding Monument which marks the location of the founding of the organization one hundred years ago in 1922.

special notes:
-During the segment with the Tribute statue in Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta, you see pointing to specific points on this monument to Olympism and Hellenism. These marks on the monument are actual shrapnel impacts which diverted deadly shrapnel from the 1996 Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta during the 1996 Olympic Games. After the attack it was decided to leave the indentations rather than cover them as a testament to the lives the monument saved.

-It should also be noted the Tribute monument rests on stones from Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. (776 B.C) The modern town of Olympia, Greece donated the stones to be used as the foundation of the project.

-The White House Diner is conveniently near the Atlanta Capitol building and its associated offices. It has be the site of many a power deal.
