✍️ Summary:
The Fetal Position
Similar to the position of a fetus in the womb, this position has you lying on your side with your knees tucked into your chest.

The Recovery Position
First aid responders use this position to help get more oxygen into the airways while they wait for the emergency services to assist.

Lying on your back
Lying on your back places minimal pressure on the uterus, but for some, it increases leakage. If that is your issue too, and you still find it the easiest way to get good sleep while menstruating, then it might be worth looking into alternative products like leak-proof underpants or menstrual cups.

Child’s Pose
The Child pose, just like the one in yoga, is similar to the fetal position but has some notable differences.

Let’s begin with Yoga.
Studies show that yoga can help reduce pain associated with menstrual cramping. Doing a few stretches before bed can ease your body into relaxation. Try these yoga poses before heading to bed.

The Cobra Pose
To do this pose, lay flat on your stomach with your legs extended straight behind you. Then, place your hands underneath your shoulders and push up as you lift your head and shoulders off the mat.

The Fish Pose
While lying on your back, legs straight, press your forearms and elbows into the floor and begin to lift your chest off the floor. Tilt your head back so the crown of your head is on the floor.

The Cat-Cow Pose
Get on your hands and knees. Inhale as you arch your back and extend the spine (cat), then exhale as you draw the lower abdominals towards the spine (cow).

The Bridge Pose
For this pose, lie on your back with your knees bent and feet on the ground. Lift your hips toward the sky. Roll up vertebrae by vertebrae into a shoulder bridge. As you roll down, let each spine segment make contact one at a time with the floor.
