I hope you enjoyed the video. I had a lot of fun making it :)

This video summarizes some of the things people turn to when looking for the meaning of life.

I made this video because I’ve struggled with the topic quite a bit. But I’m not going to make something serious about it. Jesus, if I wanted to just jerk myself off with some pseudo intellectual drivel, I would’ve become a movie/tv/music critic or one of those people who make TikToks educating the general public about gender pronouns, why working out is toxic and being fat is not only sexy but if you don’t find a beached whale fuckable you’re a literal nazi. I already feel like I’m a waste of life, I don’t need to actually be a waste of life.

Anyways, back to the serious shit, and, yes, I’m putting the serious shit here, because I know no one reads this. I’ve struggled with meaning and still do. I’ve watched so many videos about it. Read books (well, started them mostly, because I’m a lazy S of a B) about it. Had therapy sessions about it. Had psychedelic trips about it (-69/10, don’t recommend). And, honestly, I am no closer to the answer. The best I’ve found so far is just a vague set of soft rules. Something like:
- Do your best to find some things that you enjoy and do them. For me those are walking with the dog (I have an awesome dog, his name is Dog), writing jokes, writing code, sometimes shooting the bow, avoiding people (most of the time, with rare exceptions).
- Do your best to avoid absolute thinking and moronic clichés like ‘the one’, ‘find your passion’, ‘justice’, ‘good and bad’ etc.
- Do your best to be compassionate, to empathize with people you disagree with or dislike.
- Do your best to be honest. To others, but, most importantly, yourself.
- Admit not knowing shit about fuck when you don’t know shit about fuck.
- Don’t take shit too seriously.
- Trust no one, expect nothing, and give without expectation.
- Don’t take no shit off nobody! (Warning: you might get shot)

I break these rules all the time, but I’m slowly getting better at it and I keep going back to them, which makes me think that they’re useful. Fuck knows if they’re correct or what even is ‘correct’, and who cares. No one knows what this reality is and if they say they do, their wallet and/or pussy supply and/or credibility and/or psychosis depends on you believing them.
