Stories - Trickster eats a bulb

This story was taken from a book written by famed anthropologist Paul Radin titled The Trickster. The short section that is told is about Trickster eating a bulb that challenged him by saying if he ate it he would surely defecate. My initial comments about the nature of Trickster were taken directly from Radin's excellent book.

The Winnebago Trickster tales are great for young men. They love the bawdy and raw nature of the tales and enjoy laughing about the antics exploits of trickster. The stories also make it very easy to discuss important issues with the young men. This one is about arrogance and it is simple to just ask him something like, "Do you know anyone who has ever chewed the bulb like Trickster?" It's an easy start to an always fascinating conversation.
